Has anyone actually tried an MX style rear fender on the street?

I made a similar post recently but this is more specific. Has anyone actually tried a motocross style rear fender on a 2nd gen KLR650 for street useage? If so how bad was the spray from rainwater? I have a rack mounted top box for some additional protection. I really donít like the look of the stock fenders but donít want to get soaked in the rain. Iím in the process of ordering a full length modern MX style front fender. Thanks.
