Lightbulb Ikea moment

Hi everybody,

First time KLR owner here. Just bought a 2015 KLR 650 with a lot of farkles, including the SW Motech crash guards. The previous owner did not put the radiator guard back correctly so I thought I would fix that. Now, I am not the most technically skilled person (one of the reasons of buying a KLR, so I can learn) and when I put it back together, I had a bolt left....

Unfortunately, I can't get the picture in it but it is a black allen key bolt, maybe 2 inches long. Anybody have an idea what it might be?

Can you take a picture of the guard that you have (it may be aftermarket) and the bolt in question and e-mail it to me at the address in my signature? The Full Monty perspective on the guard would be good.

I will post it for you and we'll see if we can't solve this mystery.

A black, allen drive bolt would not be an oem standard bolt. What diameter is this 2inch long bolt?

It was one of the two upper fairing attach screws.
