I was in the custom seat business for over 50 years. (Dirt Road Seats) For every seat that everybody loves there will be someone that hates it. That is completely normal. Some people like a seat shaped like a dish and others like it rounded like a saddle. Some like soft and others like firm .
As you said patroy 75 you saw rave reviews on the S.C. seat , but you don't like it. I'd bet you would like their flat seat , but if you did not then it's time to look elsewhere. It can get expensive. I always offered one free adjustment . Fortunately I didn't have to do many. I did mostly sport bikes and dual sport bikes . I've installed lots of Seat Concept seat kits (most seats need a long nose stapler) and I'm impressed with the quality. I've ridden on a few and , again, impressed . I still do my own seats and friends seats and I did copy their "Commuter" style . It looks good and is very comfortable , but I agree that i have wanted to slide back a few times and ....nope.
So don't get discouraged .....all butts will never fit all seats. It can get expensive to buy , try , sell , .....and start over.... but that's all we have . If you lived next door I could "dial one in for you" .

I had the original Seat Concepts seat for the KLR (before they made all the different models of seat) and absolutely loved it! It was the flat one though, it replaced a Corbin dual platform seat that did exactly as the OP described at every stop. I much prefer the flat style seat that you can slide around on vs the dual platform styles.
