Muffler heat shield

Getting some soft saddlebags and wondering what some of you might have done in the past about protecting the bags from getting melted by the muffler.

Either a purchased or fabricated product. Thanks

Haven’t used it myself but maybe:

I picked up a set of the original KLR soft bags for real cheap of craigslist, and have not noticed any heat problems. The right side plastic panel has some kind of heat shield material stuck to the back of it that I guess does what its supposed to.
