Well I was thinking about this mod to my seat but not now. I will probably go with a total new seat. Now I just have to figure what brand. I really do love this forum

After market seats

I have a new Sargent and like it. It is shaped a lot broader than the stock, and not quite as tall. I have yet to ride further than 100 miles on it, but so far so good. I hope this helps.

I have put a Sargent on nearly every bike I've owned except a '95 GS which had a comfortible Corbin (rare) already.

Many custom seat builders are custom, in the fact that they are all the same, and not OEM.
To me a "custom seat" is a 'one of"
This definition dramatically limits you to a few true 'custom' builders.
One of the few builders of 'custom' motorcycle seats is Rick Mayer of Rick Mayer Cycles.
You determine the material, pattern, options that you want for your seat.
You may also attend there and have the seat built to your tail while you wait.

Just ordered a Corbin flat so I'll tell ya how it works when I get it. Lots of cash but I've had good luck with the corbins

I took mine to a local auto trim shop. He's gonna shave off 1" of hard foam, and replace it with 2" of soft foam. Says I'll love it. He's an ex-dirt biker, now rides street bikes.
I already like the price: $50 bucks.

I'll post back after I get it.

I'll vote Sargent as well. My used 08 had it on, but got the stock seat as well. Tried it for one 4 hour ride and couldn't believe the difference, so back on went the Sargent.
For me, it changes the bike, being so much more comfortable than stock.
