Neutral safety switch??

I had the plastic cover off the front chain sprocket to clean the grime buildup and i saw a single greenish wire attached to some kind of sensor/switch that appeared to be screwed into the bottom of the case. Is this the neutral switch? If it is, can I short this switch to ground inorder to bypass the neutral switch?? Oh, this is an '09'.

The neutral switch is not a safety switch. It lights up the dash light for one thing. You wouldn't want to disable it.

Now if your talking about the safety switches...

There's a safety switch on the sidestand and the clutch lever. The clutch safety switch does work in conjunction with the neutral switch, if the bike is not in neutral you have to pull in the clutch to start. Without the clutch switch in the circuit you can crank the starter with the bike in gear (with predictable result), ask me how I know! The side stand switch keeps the bike from starting when the stand is down.

Both switches can become flakey and keep the bike from starting.

Sounds a lot like a DHS tracking device. Any affiliation with extremest organizations?

Yup. Kawi is in cahoots. You think I wear gloves when I ride for protection? Fingerprints. Transmitted through my helmet (if it wasn't covered in tinfoil).
