couple weeks ago me and my old man (captain innapropriate) packed up and headed west. we made it from deming new mexico to yuma arizona the first day, we would have kept going but we hit one hell of a rainstorm the likes of which yuma hasnt seen in a LONG time. there were 80 mph winds and torrential downpours that hit like a sack of bricks and immediatley flash flooded the desert around us. the second day was hot and humid and we had time to kill because we were waiting for our very own 19willys51 to show up after he had some flat tire issues, eventually he made his way over and we hooked up for lunch then headed out on hwy 8 through the sand dunes outside el cajon and rode to our former officionado's house, one mr. DanDiego. before we made it to dans house we stopped off at a hospital with willys to see his grandma who was happy to see his ugly mug then we went to dans house in la mesa where later that evening another one of us Monstarz showed up later. the next morning we set off after meeting up with dan's brother and having breakfast and crossed into mexico through tecate and continued on through ensinada where we eventually stopped for lunch in some little town. GREAT food.

After lunch we continued south and west where we eventually left pavement behind in favor for washboards and dust. the coast was our goal and after 20-30 miles of mind numbing bouncing and busses on one lane roads coming at us and kids racing each other we cut off one what was described to us as a goat path after a few vaquiero's on horses pointed us in the right direction. so up we climbed on the trail over mountains through scrub tree's and large washouts. eventually we found the ocean and traveled along it until we reached a light house on the coast, there we cut a little inland for a stop at coyote cals, a pit stop for the baja 500 or something. this is where captain innapropriate got his chance and took it by telling the bartender there that he would make her giggle. after our little break we went and had dinner across the street with an amazing ocean view because we ate at the cliff. we also got some good dinner entertainment as we watched a "trailor" with a boat get pulled by a tractor get pulled by an suv get pulled by a truck up a hill until the wheels on the trailer fell off then it was more of a drag through the town. good stuff, the roads needed dragged anyway. after dinner we set off for the base of a cone of an ancient volcano which we rode through the next morning....add that one to the scrap book of things i have don on my klr. we made it there a little after dark and set up camp right on the beach. the fire that night was pretty fun, the pumice under the sand was exploding all over us. the next morning we got up went into town and had breakfast, again (great food) then headed off on the hard top again up through tijauna and eventually back to dans house.

here is some footage of the offroad stuff. there is more but i have to find time to upload it.

the next morning willys, capt. monstarz and myself went to eagle mike to say hi where capt. bought a new front caliper for 25$ we then went to motor world where he installed it and i cleaned my air filter and from there we split monstarz and willy's back to AZ, capt an I north along the coast.

more to come... eventually.
