Not sure if its me being that new paranoid owner or not??
But after my 1st KLR oil change I put in 2L started up the bike, turned off and added .5L (Total oil 2.5L)

I the started the bike again and watched the sight glass.
The sight glass completely emptied while running and could not see any oil in the sight glass ?? Turned off the bike and let the oil settle out and now the level is past the sight glass and not sure what my true level is ??

So... Just went out and started up the KLR to let run and to watch the sight glass....
Before Starting the bike Oil level was above the sight glass
(no picture),
while running (see 1st picture),
and after running ( 2nd picture)

Is it normal for the sight glass too go near to completely empty while running?
and is it normal see a such a difference from shut down to shut down levels ?? Above the sight glass, now just below the upper mark??

Ryan,
Yes. All is well with your bike's Stock & Standard lubrication system.

The oil pump has to pump the oil UP into the Oil Filter and the hollow Transmission and Cam Shafts. It will mostly/sometimes completely drain back Down. (Dependant on bottom rod pin position.)

But the lubrication system can be improved,

You never check oil level with an engine running whether it's a dipstick or sight glass for checking.
