Can anyone comment on how the powder coating holds up on the HT panniers? Do dings or dents from road debris lead to it coming off in sheets? I'm close to pulling the trigger on a set of Tetons for my 09 and am unsure if I want the powder coat or naked aluminum.
i ordered up an su rack and tetons, the rack came a couple weeks back, the tetons (7.5" powder coated black) came in on thursday, so far it looks like real quality work, cant wait to use em
I had a set of HT panniers powder coated on a KLR and Triumph Tiger. Had just around 100,000 miles on'em when I let them go with the Triumph. Held up remarkably well. Took a couple serious hits on the klr. The only time the powder coating came of is when I had a couple extra fuel jugs fastened to the top riding thru Eastern Canada and the sand got between the bottom and lid and where they mount to the brackets. Even then it only came off where there was contact. Held out rain and dust. One seal came loose once and was easily repaired with a dab of silicone. Highly recommend them for there toughness

I have the powder coated Tetons for my 08 and they seem to be durable.
