That's cool, DualThing.

There is a 'long standing' Tradition in Lander, Wyoming on Veterans Day, November 11th.
The local 'Veterans of Foreign Wars' (VFW) members sponsor a free hot cake breakfast. (Donations accepted)

They drive around town, waking Everybody UP, with miniature muzzle loading cannons.

The local Radio Station announces this Tradition to the New-comers for several days preceding the 11th. But every year the police department must calm a few fears.

That's interesting info

South Africa is a very young country, Jan van Riebeeck landed at the Cape in 1652

So, that's when our hisrtory began

Looks like a cool hobby to me. Is it made completely from "scratch?" Looks like black powder?

Technically, South Africa is Older than the US of A, then. 1776, we declared Independence from Great Britain on July the 4th. Therefore we celebrate 'Independence Day' on July 4th.

You Ought to See, the the aerial fireworks display Above the ENTIRE town of Lander, WY on the 4th of July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about 'bombs bursting in air'!!
Weather and Drought, permitting of course.

Cool cannon! You could mount one on the back of your bike to discourage tailgaters!

I jest, that is a seriously cool cannon though!
