Suspension lube

Decided to lube the shafts on suspension today

The links on the shock / swingarm, very easy out, lube and in

The rod through the swingarm, a lot more punching and hammering - rusted

The bottom rod through the shock, a total different story

I think its rusted to such an extend, that I'm not getting it out, at all

Almost a tin of WD40 later, and I can turn the shaft, but it does not move at all

Might be rusted to the bearing shaft?

The lack of lubrication from the "stealer", is shocking

This is taken from the bottom

Just going to leave it
It moves freely on the frame

Lay it on it's side.
Penetrating fluid.
Wait a day or so.
Sledge hammer.
Worked for me.

They are really tight with the lube from the factory.

Wait till ya check out the steering head.

I haven't had my '09 swingarm off yet. Dunno If I want to. LOL
Glad ya got it apart and lubed up.

Up here it's maintenance season not riding season. Snow and well below
freezing here in the northern States.

Have fun!! Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeap

Mike Hopkins came to the "party" and replaced all bearings, bolts and seals on the suspension of my KLR
Lack of grease on the bolts the culprit apparently
According to him, the bearings does get greased but the robot that inserts the bolt into the bearings, does not grease the bolt itself
Trust and hope itís all done correctly now

Very simple maintenance tip #1

The bigger the problem, the bigger the hammer
