Hi all, 2001 model, central NSW, just back to riding after a big break and the KLR seemed to be the perfect choice. So far I seem to be riding 1/3 bitumen, 1/3 gravel roads and 1/3 tracks and trails so the KLR is proving to be a good choice.

Hello All,
I don't seem to fit anywhere as I am living in Malaysia and my guess is the KLR is not that popular among the bikers here. Bikers in Malaysia still preferred the sport/sport touring types. My 08 KLR is awaiting for me to find time for another butt ride in South East Asia.
Any idea what kind of engine bar guard fit best for KLR? Cheers Mate

Blackwater, Central Queensland here with a '05' 650, my wife had a 250 with the same colour scheme, they looked sweet sitting side by side, she hated the kick start thou, we asked about converting it to an electric start but the local shop said no go, so it's been sold and she is now looking for another bike.

We have found the missus another bike, it's an '07' KLX250 in green with an electric start for $4000, it was just missing a chain gaurd and needs rego...... bargain of the century, and yes it goes very well with it's Staintune pipe sounding oh so sweet.

Hi everyone - my turn to say hello from sunny Perth! I'm new to this forum and KLR's in general .... my VN900 was a pleasure to ride but I couldn't see it taking full advantage of some of the beautiful rides we have around here, so it made way for a red 'n' black '09 just last month. The bars and skid plate will go on soon, along with the barkbusters and a better set of tyres, and then it'll be time to see what it can do.

Cheers,

vince

Hi!,
My KLR clocked 9000km since bought last Oct 2008. This is what I experienced; the stock tire about time to change now, some screws loose and need tightening (pse check them often), main fuse blown probably due to overload when the battery water level runs low or nearly dried. The wiring harness however is in good condition and no leakage suspected, front fork tends to wobble during cornering at speed above 140 kph, other than that the bike is just 'tough nut'. Safe ride. G'day All,

Joined the forum a couple of weeks ago. I own a 1992 KLR-650 Tengai. I have had the bike for 13 years, which I bought off a mate of mine who had it since new. It has 66K on it and still goes well.

Looking forward to the discussions, advice on this forum.

(Note: should mention I am in central Victoria)

Cheers
