Cooling Vests

Anybody use them? Recommendations, horror stories.......

Last summer ridding around in the Black Hills on my Goldwing I was a little on the warm side. Want to be better prepared this summer.

My Kaw Barn - 2004 KLR, 2006 Concours (sold), 1997 Bayou 400.

Here's a helpful and informative post on hot weather riding by a good looking and talented member, hah!

There's a link in there to a page on evaporative vests.

YA alright we'll go with the talented but I ain't buying good looking.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll likely go with the fabric vest versus crystals as they seem to be lighter when soaked.

I have something like this:

I don't use it much, but when I do, it works great! 114* in Death Valley and as long as I was going at least 30mph, the evaporation worked great. I kept it soaked and in a zip lock bag between uses (within a trip; naturally I let it dry out once I'm home)

If you let the speeds drop then the moisture works against you.

BTW, this site http://store.mm411.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&Category_id= 294
is run by a keen enthusiast in the PNW. He'll take care of you

You don't know unless you ask.
