I cant give you any feedback yet. I just ordered a 761 for the rear, it should be here by weeks end.
I wanted something on the inexpensive side that will be more street oriented and hopefully last longer than the stock rear did (3400 miles).
I'll post something when I get it mounted up and put few miles on it.

medicman71-

Pretty good on the street and I'm at 9K on my second rear and 18K on my first front.

Acceptable off-road on fire/service roads.

Hello, I just purchased them and had them mounted and balanced today. I am happy to I've my opinion, but I am a new rider. I was told these tires were great for 80/20 street and dirt. They look and feel much better than the Dunlop 60/40's that were on the bike when I purchased them. I have heard the first 100 miles are crucial to wear in process. Very slippery.

The set on my bike have been there for about 4.5K and I'll be replacing them with another set.. They're very good on the dry, so-so on the wet, they wear well, and they're (KLR world) CHEAP!!!

The set on my bike were installed last summer and I paid $94 for the set, shipped to my door!! Not sure what they're going for now, but I'm very happy with them.

On wet road, just don't ride crazy.. They're just like every tire was before silica rubber showed up on the market.. Not super sticky in the wet, but they do fine..

At 4.5K, I figure mine are a bit more than half worn, and I don't ride on worn out tires.. I'm guessing they'll need to be replaced at about 7.5K or so..

Any thoughts on installing the front tire backwards to help with the wear?

BAH!!! Downright scary when the roads are wet. The OEM Dunlops grip better on wet curves than the 761's. YMMV

I did that. The tire has a "Drive" marking on it, not "Rotation".

Think about it - the front tire drives the bike backwards through braking. I believe that the front 761 should be mounted 'backwards'.

That opinion is supported by emperical evidence. When I flipped it around, cupping stopped. Admittedly, a sample of one.
