New ATV Seat Cover At WM

Dropped by Walmart after work and noticed they have a new padded seat cover in the ATV section. The old, classic, "Wally World Seat Covers" were from Stearns and were kind of hard, or at least "firm."

These new ones they stock are from Coleman. They're black and seem softer, with kind of a "gel" feel to them. They appear to be about the same size as the Stearns and should fit a KLR seat just fine.

Just from handling one, it seemed to me it would be a tad more comfy than the old Stearns cover. I'm actually thinking of getting one and putting it on top of my Stearns cover for two layers.

Didn't have the money to pick one up tonight because I went there to get an Action Packer-type tote to bolt onto my rear rack. They have a new 10-gallon tote similar to the Action Packer except it has a hinged lid with a latch and I got one of those.

I'll try to get it on and get some photos so you guys can see what it looks like. I think it will work well. I'm tired of messing around with a backpack and bungee cords when I ride to work and back and wanted something weatherproof. I'm hoping my helmet, jacket and pants will fit in it.

My WM carries 3 or 4 different sets, but they're all twin 55-watt lights and draw more juice than I'm comfortable with.

Dude, that's the EXACT same seat cover, just re-badged. Saw it in a WM in Cincy. Its my Sterns seat cover with a Coleman name tag. Nothing new here. Look at it closer.

Looks identical, but to me doesn't feel the same. The minute I picked it up and felt it, I could tell the difference. May be the same product with different branding, but I think the materials have changed.

The link I went to states Stearns.
At any rate I installed one on my KLR shortly after I got it. I wanted some added legroom and width and it works great for dirt cheap.

I recently picked up a "new" bike and my legs are quite tight and the jewels tend to get squished. So I got another ATV cover to eyeball it and see how it would lay out.
Finally decided to put it on backwards and cut it in half.
Installed a piece of camping pad towards the front to take out some of the slope (save the jewels) and a tad more height to help the knees.
Anyone want to see the "new" ride? If not, don't scroll down.

Installed some shorty blinkers as well.

Damn, that looks like a good idea. I will have to try that on my Bandit. Its seat sucks.

Agreed. Putting it on backwards for the extra width and adding some padding under it is an excellent idea. I'm going to have to experiment with mine.
