I spoke to a guy earlier this week who rode to South America this year. He said he and his buddy used one of these to keep their cells charged.

I love that stove! I almost bought one last year

But then realized that I don't camp enough to make it worth it! Lol

I think it would be good to have anyway, it would even come in handy in a power outage. I like the biofuel stoves, I think it's an excellent idea to have a stove that burns locally sourced fuel vs having to pack propane cannisters or fiddle with gas/white gas.

I bought mine last year and as of yet haven't put a fire in it. I also like the idea of not having to pack fuel. I carried it for a week long float down the Yukon river from Eagle to Circle last summer. It never came out of my dry bag because I was happy to let the kids cook with the fuel stoves they packed. (I'm always up for helping the young learn responsibility and character ). I am planning a couple of trips on the KLR around Alaska this summer and plan to carry it on those. I bought the Biolite kettle pot that everything packs into as well and it makes a nice small package.

I agree that it is probably a good idea to have a stove if there is a power outage and the ability to use it with local fuel. Great point.
