Bike protective gear

Hi not complaining but couple of weeks ago I hit a dog flipped the bike ,my street bike not the KLR went over the bars I had on full gear leather chaps took a beating but held up knees rubbed leather gloves with no knuckle protection except leather ,no more of that knuckle guards from now on helmet open face with visor saved my life made a mess of the thing now the jacket I,ve had it several years no marks on it at all ,it got torn ripped and saved a lot of skin except the left elbow pad slipped forward and made a mess of my elbow ,
I broke 3 ribs punctured a lung and split the shoulder blade scapula in several places ,but I,m on the mend ! Thanks for letting me rant

You fractured your scapula? You don't see that too often. That must have been a direct hit. Take care and God Bless!

Ouch! That sounds painful! Hoping for fast healing for you.
If you don't mind me asking, about how fast were you going when you went down?

The speed limit down here in alabama is 45 mph on county rds I was doing a little less than that as there was a stop street ahead ,no speeding involved ,
There was a lady standing fairly close and saw it all , the bike after hitting the dog I was off it but it went strait down the road for maybe 100 ft or more before falling over ( wide tire on back ) the sheriff figured I was flying but this lady at 77 set the record strait what a beauty gal 100 lbs 5 ft and feisty and a sweet heart ,when I went back to thank her 2 days ago the hugs were unbelievable super people !

Thanks for the reminder. Gear is so important. Rest up and ride, brother.

Heal well, drsprocket.
