thanks for the input. What do you think of the stock tires that the bike comes with?
Also, I am thinking of some crash bars and a low seat (I am 5' 8"). Who makes the lowest and best seat?
As to the seat. ( I get crap on this, but) Ive done this on lots of Harleys, if one doesn't feel comfortable doing it, go to a upholsterer, and have it done.
1, take seat off and take out all staples.
2, have marker in hand, and put seat back on.
3, sit on seat as far back as you like to be comfortable. and mark the back/butt stop.
4, get off seat, mark all the way the back to where comfortable mark is. Push the padding down all the way in multiple spots on both sides and mark where it bottoms out. ( as the pan is different shapes in different areas) I mark the contour to only save a half inch of the foam.
5, Take the kitchen electric knife and have at it. The back save all the hight, as its a great butt stop, just need to bevel it a little, Cut following your marks, and then bevel it on the sides a little, ( save as much front) ( nut stop) as you can.
6, Put seat on and sit on it. If happy, restaple it, it wont be show room quality, but gets the job done perfectly.
If one don't like, it, take it to an upholsterer, and have them do it.
( I have had problems with, corbin, I will NEVER buy one from them again.) ill sit on the battery first.
In my defense, I spent a lot of time as a bench warmer and on old metal tractor seats. So my butt has no problems. On long rides, just have a jell-lamb skin seat cushion. ( for me, its about making it do what I need it to do.) im 5,11, and can flat foot both feet with flip flops on.
