fieldsheer soft lugage

I thought I'd give a short critique of the fieldsheer soft lugage I got for the KLR. I was interested in finding something I could use without having to get or build racks for it. Overall there was a little bit of playing with it to find a shot that the lugage wasn't over the muffler and yet not in my way.
So far the way I have it mounted now seems to work well and maintain a secure position with little weight to hold it down. I have yet to pack it down with a lot of weight but so far for $100 it seems like it was a good investiment.
Here are some photos.

hmm. Im interested in the same thing. I'm looking to take a LOOOOOONG trip on the KLR this summer, and I have no inclination to spend the time or the money on a set of racks and hard cases. I will, however, get a hard top case for the tail, cause it is easy and economical. WHat are the chances that your soft luggage could slide back and hit the tailpipe?

Not much since I have it strapped in front of that tank bag on the back and to where the passanger foot pegs go. I am thinking of adding some heat insullation around the pipe at some point however. The heat pad under the rear plastic fell out a long time ago. LOL
