Backpack

I have always stowed a backpack on the bike for side hikes and in case I need to leave the bike behind. The thing takes up a lot of room for what I expect of it.

Usually I stuff it with water, fishing tackle, some snackage, a thermos and a windbreaker and go off to harass fish.

Not wanting to do what I should be doing today I made a backpack to do what I need. It won't carry a lot of weight and it won't take me much more than a couple of miles but it will always find a place to be tucked away.

It weighs 68 grams and fits in a wee pouch that also serves as small bag inside the backpack for important stuff that I don't want to have to fish out of the bottom of the pack.

It has decent volume, so it will be no problem to carry a windbreaker and a down vest along with the snacks, water, tackle, etc.

Tom,
I purchased one about that size, with the pouch sewn on to the outside, with a double pull handled zipper (built in storage pouch), about 40 years ago.
It has slotted leather triangles stitched to the 'inside' of the storage pouch, so one of the tent/sleeping bag straps could carry it on the exterior of the large pack.
I used it to carry my 'Daily' fishing tackle/snacks/rain gear when I was Backpacking into the high mountain lakes.
I've still got it / still occasionally use it.

I'll bet you could still sell a million of them, at $6.95 USD!
