Is there one from Wal Mart or Target or..............................?

I've seen the fancy expensive ones but I'm very budget concious.

Britman-

There are some $20 ATV bags universally available on the Internet and I think Walmart has them. The can be pressed into service as KLR tank bags, but don't expect them to hold much.

I modified a pair to be used as nerf bar bags. http://www.klrforum.com/showthread.php?t=6641

There's a company called Motodirect that used to market some sorta Cortech copies. The construction is not too bad, but the zippers suck. I used them for a while and they were serviceable. They don't seem to be carrying them now, but they have leather stuff. They do have a tank bag and a tail bag.

Check ebay and see what you can find - there's a set of Onyx bags up now for $125 with shipping.

Tom

I too am very budget conscious but can offer these words of wisdom. When it comes to outdoor gear and I consider riding equipment outdoor gear, don't cut corners. When you are on a ride and carrying something with you we may safely assume that the items we take along are somewhat important. Purchasing high quality motorcycle luggage insures that your bags will not fall off the bike and that the contents will remain dry while securely attached to the bike. Buying bags that are designed for the KLR will go a long way toward having a solid set up when you hit the road.

I use the walmart tank panniers. I get all my extra tools plus snacks in with no problem. I run 1 bungee cord thru the webbing and to the tank at the radiator shrouds. Took a piece of web belt and glued it to the velco pads which are supposed to be stuck to the atv tank. I let the webbing go in front of the gas cap and it works fine. I can ride all day on dirt roads and they don't move

KLR650.com's Aerostich copy tank panniers are excellent...
$70ish bucks, but mine are 5 years old and work perfectly.. Tractor Supply has a set, also..

Wolfman tank panniers are very small..

And no, I'm not one to push a copy, but I love my KLR650.com panniers and actually like them better than the Aerostich originals..

My dad and i made our own bags before we went on our trip and just for the bags not the racks was about 60-65. we just went onto to ebay and he found some hi viz yellow water proof material ( and i will get the info on this if anyone wants to know) and we bought some velcrow (SP) and webbing. I can give you the pattern to. we were able to make seat bags to. my dad bought the racks off ebay and then we just molded mine after his. It works and then when you can afford some more expensive equipment. I will get some pictures up so you can see. they were great and they held up nicely. but the key word kinda in this situation is that my mom sews and my dad and i are very crafty, that really is all that you need. Good luck all.
