How Well Do Hippo Hands Fit the KLR?

I just bought a pair of Barkbusters Blizzard handguards for my '01 KLR and am not entirely happy with them. They don't quite fit the bike perfectly because of the placement of the mirrors, and they don't block the cold and wind as well as I'd hoped. I'm thinking of returning them and buying Hippo Hands instead.

Will Hippo Hands fit a stock KLR without any mods such as cutting holes for the mirrors? I apologize if the question's been answered, but I did search and didn't find an answer in the first five threads.

Speaking of the ORIGINAL, genuine CANADIAN-MADE Hippo Hands on a Generation 1: They fit SUBLIMELY!

(In my experience, of course; conflicting opinions welcomed! )
