Washing Cordura

I've got some MotoPort cordura pants. Washing instructions say only use a front load washer. Of course ours is a top loader.

Anyone washed cordura in a top loader? What was the result?

My only other alternative is take the time to take a load to the laundermat and use a front loader there. For a $300 pair of pants, I'm ok with that, but just wondering what others have gotten for results using a top loader.

Thanks

All of my Klim goes in the top load gentle cycle with woolite. Woolite may be because of the Gore-Tex though

Bathtub

I occasionally wash my gear. I take out all of the armor padding, put 3 or 5 inches of water in the bathtub, add a cap ful or two of Woolite. Then I drop it in there and swash it around by hand for a minute or three. After I've done the pants and jacket, I drain the tub and fill back w clean water to rinse it out using the same method of swashing them around. It takes about 3 rinse cycles to get the soapy out.

The most problematic part is when you're taking them out of and back into the tub there will be a lot of water trapped in the folds that will want to pour into the flloor. so drain them as much as you can; pockets will fill up too.

Hang them up to air dry.
