Question Bears (Ursidae)

MC camping trip planned for September to Caniapiscau QC, what would you do to increase your safety concerning Ursus americanus?

I live and ride in bear country. Carry bearspray. I carry one permanently on my riding coat belt and keep it handy in camp. Bangers and whistles and horns are very limited and easily ignored by a bear. They don't necessarily relate the noise to danger.
A gun is not practical to carry. It will be leaned up against a tree on the other side of the campsite when you need it.
Keep a clean campsite and use food lockers where available. Don't cook and eat where you sleep. If you are remote camping pitch your tent well away from the food area.

It's not a Tractor....It's a LOCOMOTIVE!! Chugga Chugga
