Going through Texas to Mexico

I will be headed down to Mexico, hoping on leaving Colorado mid January. Does anyone now how it is getting through customs in Brownsville and how safe is that crossing into Mexico? The other thing is anyone headed there during that time and would like to travel together? Thanks for the info.

I'm in San Antonio, and have spent quite a bit of time in Mexico over the years. Getting across the border is no problem, and the roads are generally good, depending on where you're going.
There are "check points" along some highways that you'll want to avoid.
Let me know what your destination is, and perhaps I can help with the route.

I would love to join you, but I'll have to pass on this one.

ride to mex!

hey man, i am def interested in ride to mex. ive been wanting to go down there but always hesitant to do it alone. ideally i would want to get to puerto escondido area, and from there go south to nicaragua and costa rica which which i am quite familiar.

this could be a false hope but it could also be ridiculously awesome.
