This thread has gone so far off the rails, I have a request for a moderator: "Would it be possible to rename this thread and place the pin-out post alone under this title?"
It would be most appreciated if we might continue this subject to the point where I'm able to get the posts done in an efficient manner, but think this thread might be off-putting to somone who has interest in the pin-outs and who might waste valuable time in looking through for more information on that subject.
I try not to allow the "drip, drip, drip.." of repeated questions to get to me although I used to love to fake an outburst with each of my new college classes. I'd rant and rave about having answered the same question every year, to every new group of students and here is someone asking again. It sometimes took a few minutes before someone caught on and then it was the running joke all term. That helped to diffuse my frustration.
Everyone who posts (or almost everyone) a doohickey question is doing it for the first time, it's new to them and likely they don't understand anything about it. When I'm becoming frustrated, I step back and don't respond unless no one else does. The other side of that coin is that I'm not pure of the asking redundant questions bug.
Another one is that it is easy for me to assume that the person to whose question I am responding likely knows more on the subject than I will every learn. That their problem is that they just don't know that the systems with which they work professionally are hugely simplified and applied to their bike. Or, that they are 60 IQ points above me and will learn what I offer at the first get-go, leaving me far in the dust.
I'm not competitive about knowing and like most to find that I'm the one who knows least. The best day is when I learn why I'm wrong about something!
Let me try to repost that diagram to see what happens as I forget the exact terminology used in the notice. OK, the Manage Attachments pop-ip shows the total of attachements owned my Normk as 1.05 mb which is about 1/2 of the red-green slider.
It uploaded and the slider shows about 3/4 red with 1.52 mB.
The images which I'd like to use to show the Brown Wire Modification are about 663 kB so that will soon put me over the limit and much before the procedure is done.
Another group to which I used to belong (no longer active because don't have one of those bikes) allowed larger upload amounts if one is a paying member. "Hmm, you want me to pay in order to post information in support of your web site?". Someone would need to explain why I'd want to do that.
OK, off to talk with son about online storage.
I did try to locate where you are hosting images on this site. I could not find anything under your user name. Maybe you can direct me to it.
With PhotoBucket I have a KLR folder and upload my images for the forum into that. With tabbed Web Browsers it's fairly straight forward. I open a tab, get my upload started then go back and do the text. Then when the upload is finished I get the IMG tag link and copy and paste it in.
I understand where you are coming from though as to effort versus value. Some folks will ask a question without doing a forum search first because it's easier and takes less time. Myself I'm so tired of posts about Doohickeys for example.
Appreciate your effort and willingness to share your abundant knowledge.
