Turn signal wire splice

I just purchased the SW-Motech Quick-Lock Evo Side Carrier. I need to splice my two tail turn signal lights to extend them further back on the bracket. Does it matter where the splice occurs? Will splicing inside the light fixture help in any way as far as moisture is concerned?

No. Just cut the wires, solder them, tape with electric tape. Never had an issue and I've done a lot.

You can splice it anywhere you want just use big enough wire to extend it with. Solder the connections and use heat shrink tubing to insulate with.
