slow loading forum?

I've noticed the past week or so, when I'm typing a reply or adding a new message, I get the spinning icon on my Mac and the last few words that I've typed may take 10 seconds or so to appear on screen.

Don't know if its a slow upload or a hosting issue. Not happing on other forums.

Brian,

I have bumped that issue up to the Help Desk.

This forum often loads slower than most others for me. Nothing like the text entry issues you mentioned though. That could be a web browser or system resources issue. There are also plenty of ads loading here which can cause all manner of strange things to happen.
Try a different browser.

Brian,

The Help Desk asked for the following information:

"When you noticed the slowness, was it occurring only when posting a new message whether replying to an existing or creating a new thread? When replying to an existing thread, did you notice if it only happens while using the quick reply or in the go advanced editor? Also, is this across the forums or it's noticeably slower within a specific one - if so, which one?

Is this happening just the one browser (which one are you using?) or have you tried to replicate this on other browsers? The more details you can provide us, the better we can assist you."

If I recall correctly you will only get the ads if you are NOT logged in.

I get a similar issue on my mac sometimes too. For me it seems to be a browser or resource issue on my end rather than the forum itself. Sometimes my Mac is backing up and that seems to slow down other tasks. A lot of times a restart of my Mac fixes the strange things that are going on.

I have noticed it from time to time on both my Mac and my Galaxy tablet. My internet connection is slow and is affected by weather as well. Sometimes turning the router off then back on clears things up. Somtimes not......

did a "Quick Reply" on my thread about routing cables, and the system hung up midway through my typing.

After the spinning disk stopped, then the Message window flashed black and white repeatedly until I scrolled up. I was able to complete my reply without further problems.

Hahaha, I just did it on this Quick reply.

thanks
