It took me a bit to find klrforum.com on Tapatalk. At the top, type in the search klrforum. 650.net and others were found as well....then you have to “follow” I guess. Kind of confusing to me.
I don’t see that Tapatalk adds anything or makes browsing the forum easier for me. If anything it takes away from the user experience.

Just, . . . please, oh PLEASE, do NOT follow the lead of .net in any "re-vamping" of this forum!

I just hit KLR650.net, performing some minor research, and was met with: The tackiest, chintziest, greeting I have ever encountered in my life on the Internet. Schlock worse than found visiting Gatlinburg, TN (and that's saying something!).

Couple of mindless "babes," posed before a misleading, "Kawasaki' sign, singing, "How Great We Art" about website .net.

Background "music," a cacophony of noises perhaps perby a roomful of apes with electronic music machines. Needless, mindless scrolling of indexes.

I could go on. Heard the website was for sale. I'm reminded of, O. Henry's, "The Ransom of Red Chief." How much will .net PAY someone to take it over?

Again, just don't go in the direction of .net, please.

IT is Quite the Shocker the First time isn't it!

One can either turn down their volume or hit the pause button and let it load thru. Once their catterwhallin' is over and the screen changes, one can re-enter the web address into your bookmarks. (I just re-entered address yesterday.)

So you are also still allowed to read over there, eh Damocles? Are you allowed to post?

Having given this a lot of thought, I think that we will go with some lumberjacks doing barber shop quartet with a Vincent sign in the background.

Before we can get to that, though, there's work to be done.

A couple of thoughts and questions.

1) We have a lot of stickies. On some of the sub-forums it is almost hard to get to posts because the stickies are, well, stuck there. Makes it look like there are no posts! Some of them should be there, like klr4evr's 'How To Post A Picture' and Dave's 'Newbie Mistakes'. The vast majority of them might be best put somewhere else.

What do you all think of a sub-forum called "The Hall of Wisdom" where we can park stickies? Would renaming "How To's and Tech Guides" work?

2)All of the KLR forums started out with a sub-forum called something like "Wrenchin' Yer KLR". In 2007 the first Gen 2s started to show up, so the forums re-labeled the sub-forum to "Wrenchin' Yer Gen 1" and added a "Wrenchin' Yer Gen 2".

At this point, do you all think that keeping the Gen 1 and Gen 2 wrenching sub-forums separate is still a good idea?

I believe there are so many substantial differences that the 2 Generations need to be kept separate.

The KLR & Other motorcycle related discussion is still good for shared issues, like suspension pivots, air box issues/mods, etc.

Contrary to malicious lies uttered by a Jake-leg shade-tree would-be mechanic (never mastered Thermo-Bob installation), a poseur who feigned intimacy with GENUINE KLR experts, who formerly posted from his wealth of ignorance and misinformation on here, I have NEVER been banned or otherwise sanctioned on .net. Capable of posting on .net, I seldom do; by my own choice; only if event information appears desirable, or if I have no other way to reach an inmate with whom I wish to communicate.

I stopped posting on .net after a friend was banned there most unfairly. I suppose I may be considered, "self-banned!"

You can tell those girls on .net were paid, I never had an attractive woman ever say "Nice bike!" about my KLR... Lol! Good for a laugh though!

Tires and engine oils are always a hot topic

How about a dedicated thread for each where members can post their opinions and they know where to look instead of doing a search of all threads
