I wonder if the price is going to fit the KLR owner frugality? But, what the heck, if I can spray bed liner on it I might buy it.

While I'm too cheap to buy a new tank unless this one's leaking, I'd love to have longer touring range on my bike when I need it..

People freak when the see a tank of that size, but forget to remember that you don't HAVE to fill it all the way!!

I'm having trouble with the math on this one.

My current tank is 23 litres = 6.07 US gal = 5.06 Imp. Gal.

Quote:
The Safari Tank for the KLR650 will be approximately 30 litres in capacity, an increase of around 50 per cent over the standard tank, giving a range of approximately 500 – 550 kilometres.
30 litres is by my math a 24% upgrade, not 50%

30 litres = 7.93 US gal = 6.6 Imp. Gal. - About the size of an IMS tank.

I really don't see the need for a larger tank anyway. The KLR has one of the highest ranges out there. Pretty hard to run it out of fuel unless you are way up north or way down south.
