Highway pegs w/o AM skidplate?

I'd like to put some highway pegs on my 08 but I don't want to put on a different skidplate. Does anyone make one that bolts right on?
Thanks

Vatrader, won't he still have to take his skid plate off?

efigalaxie, you are right, this won't work with the factory skid plate. Apologies to all for my lack of comprehension and non-existent reading ability. This I can not put off on my parents or the public school systems. This atrocity is the result of long term, blatant drug abuse, which I, in spite of numerous warnings and educational movies, engaged in with a passion. While it is true that we are born with millions of brain cells, you start taking those cells out 6-7 thousand at a whack, pretty soon, you are making statements like the one I made here, in spite of written directives and warnings from the distributor.

May this serve as a lesson to you all.....Question everything.

No fan of Humble Pie, [crow / pie dough, not the band] I have redeemed myself by seeking out and resubmitting an alternative to my previous faux pas. I now give you the Givi alternative:

...and when used in conjunction with the optional MFW footpegs....

Not only have you gained leg comfort, you have added chassis component protection, engine protection, not to mention stylishly rugged good looks. All possible while maintaining the use of the stock skidplate. You will be the envy of all your friends.

All this, and more, available through our boy Buster. Check the favored Vendor section for more exciting possibilities.

I hope you all realize that was a lot of work to get out of eating crow.

The stock skid plate is a joke! Mine broke just commuting with it. I think it was a piece of retread that did it. Also it doesn't even protect the drain plug. I guess if you don't ever go off the pavement it might be OK, but I have seen what happens when you crack the engine case; BIG $$$.There are basically 3 types of aftermarkets that will do the job.

That being said; I can't think of an affordable set of HW pegs unless you are a welder.

Am I looking at their site wrong or does the Happy Trail highway pegs mount up without touching the skidplate?

They mount up without touching THEIR skid plate. I am waiting for my whole plate/peg/nerfbar set from Happy Trail. I am very very interested in seeing how it all mounts up.

UPS just dropped off my new HT combo set. I'll find out this weekend how they go together.
