SW Motech Crash Bars Recalled

So last week Thursday I placed an order from twisted throttle for all kinds of toys (SW Motech crash bars - the new vibration dampened ones, skid plate, tank bag, and rear brake cylinder guard). Friday they said it was shipping, due to arrive before the following Friday (tomorrow). Turned out the rear cylinder guard and skid plate were back ordered, oh well, I understand. They shipped the crash bars and the tank bag. On Tuesday, I checked the UPS tracking, which said the package was requested to be returned to sender. So I called up Twisted Throtte, who said the new SW Motech crash bars were recalled.

The new SW Motech Crash Bars are vibration dampened. Basically they have rubber inserts in/around the bar where the bolts go through (I believe). When I called TT, they said that the bars were recalled because they had the wrong hardware and they'd get them back out to me a soon as possible. I'm not sure exactly what this means, I'm guessing they were just packaged with the wrong bolts.

TT seems like a good company to work with, they were as helpful as possible on the phone. Hopefully I get all the toys soon.

What I have read elsewhere, Motech sent TT the old style crash bars with the new mounting hardware. TT will have to wait a couple of months for Motech to make it right. You will note that on TT's web site, the new style bars are no longer listed.

Maybe you should look for JNS engineering?? I ordered a skid plate from them last week and got it. Its USA made and excellent quality.

I ordered my sw motech from whitehorse gear a month ago. I've got the old style set I guess. Was out on the interstate yesterday doin' 75 mph with no noticeable excessive vibes. Of course, My KLR 650 IS a big honkin' single, so it is gonna vibrate some.
