Taking video's from bike?

Has any one used a video camera on the bike?

I'm trying to find out if there's a difference in file size ( for same length of time ) of a video, taken with a dedicated on bike video camera vs a regular digital camera with video capabilities.

I have a Nikon Cool Pix S8000 camera that takes decent video's.
A 15 sec video takes between 20 - 60 mb file size, depending on what format I convert it to.

Would one of the dedicated video cam's be more, less, about same?

Video consumes memory in a hurry. The two things that will determine how much space a 15 sec clip will use are pic quality and frames per sec. a video shot in 480 will take up less space than one shot in 720hd. High Definition cameras can shoot video as high as 1080 at 30fps. Most of the new cameras shoot HD which at least 720. Your Coolpix is probably shooting at 480 at it's highest quality. So in short if the settings are the same they will use roughly the same amount of memory.
