Additional LED Taillights

I just ordered two LED Tail Strips. I will be mounting these on my hard cases using Automotive quick release plugs so that the cases are still removeable.
I commute from a rural area (home) to a very populated area (work) and do a lot of night driving. I have always felt like more light was needed behind me.

Have a look:

I would like to find some way to mount extra tail lights on the bike without running bags because like you I feel like I need more visibility from behind at night

what year KLR did you put this on-?

does it just light up upon engagement of the brake?

I was thinking of the same thing, mounted on the back of a hard sided case. Radio Scrap has some screw-together solder on plugs that would be a solid connection.

FWIW:
Here in Southern N.H. we have a truckers accessory store. They sell all types of LED lights. A little expensive but some of them are real bright.

I've installed several of their LED lights on my bikes for different purposes.
On my Gold Wing the wind deflectors are mounted under the mirror housings. I put some additional lights on the defelectors and wired them to the directionals.
Total cost for mirror directionals was about $ 20.00
Ever priced out commercial ones for the Wing?

I have their lights on the mud flap of my NX250. Wired to brake signals.

Thanks for the lead on the LED strips. My commute sounds like yours and I was thinking my new tote would be a good place to mount something additional lights like these. It would get some lights up higher where maybe they'd be more visible to vehicles behind me.

If you can, I'd appreciate it if you could get back and let us know how you wired it.
