Handy KLR Tool Kit Addition

I found these at Lowe's yesterday. I'd never seen vise-grips this small (4"). Looks like they'll be a handy addition to the KLR tool kit: perfect for tight spaces and small fasteners, etc.

Jaws have a functional range up to about 3/4" while still being able to lock.

Task Force brand. They seem to be fairly well made. Can't comment on their durability and life span, but for $1.98 if they bailed you out one time they'd be worth the money. They sure don't take up much room.

Looks like it'll be a good addition to the tool kit. I have both of the "mini" regular jaw and needle nose Vicegrips in my carry along. Haven't needed them yet, but glad they are there.

I have a pair, and they have come in handy. Good call.

Maybe with a set of older, used Vise-Grips, but I don't think it makes much of a difference anymore. I'd say these "Task Force" pliers are probably as good as a new set of "Vise Grips." There's a good likelihood they're the exact same set of pliers in different packages with different prices. See article below. Apparently no locking-jaw-type pliers are made in America anymore.

Re: Handy KLR Tool Kit Addition.

Good Afternoon Planalp,

You picture had a great effect on me. I saw that miniature vise grip and had visions of the uses. I immediately went and made that little investment. It has already served me well. Thanks for the advice.

Hope you get some good use out of them, Snakeboy. Fine proponent I am of this particular tool as I've never even used mine yet. They're in my kit, tho.

I just mounted my "New and Improved" tool tube and now have more space to fill. Great idea, gota pick myself up a pair of those.
