Bajaworks windshield

Well, after having ridden with it for a few weeks now, I have to say I am somewhat impressed. It took me a bit to get used to the vertical shape. The wind buffeting is less than the stock one but would be even better for a shorter rider (I'm 6'4") If I duck my head slightly then there is little to no wind noise or buffeting. The biggest drawback that I see with it is that you need to trim the headlight cowling to match or you have nice sharp little daggers pointing at you!

Notice the lower left corner of the pic. I didn't wanna trim it til I decided if I liked it or not. It bolts right on with no mis-alignment at all. Well made and now that I'm used to the shape, I'm all for it.

A KLR is not a motorcycle, it is a blank canvas with which to paint the rest of your life.

It takes a little getting used to the near vertical position. Now that I'm used to it, I like it alot. I think they are right around $115 for clear and a bit more for the tinted. Not too bad and you wont eat it off highway like you will some of the other windshields in a "rapid deceleration"

As far as I can tell, Gerald is no longer making or selling, the Dakar windshield.
Problem with quality control.
So if you want one you'll have to buy used.
Or visit the BajaWorx site to see if he is back in business.

What were the quality control issues? I've had mine for a while now without any problems. Even took a dove off of it at 30mph without breaking or cracking it. I wish I could have picked one up for $60 though!

I just installed a "slightly scratched" Dakar that I got from them for a discout. Where it was scratched I do not know but it aint where you look through it. This is on my second generation KLR. The aftermarket one that was on it was freakin huge. I'm 6' tall and I could not see over it. And noisy? Anyway, took that one off and 5 minutes later had my Dakar mounted and boy howdy! I was happy now! A bit goofy looking (that's OK- so am I) but it sure does block the wind and made my ride much more quiet. All I need now is a nice flat WIDE seat and I will be ready to head up up and move 'em out.

It WILL NOT be replacing my Gold Wing on my trip up to Alaska this year but maybe next year? Who knows? Anybody wanna come along?

They did have problems for a while. Their web site says they now have some for sale.
