Ram X grip JUNK ....

So i got a new phone and needed a new mount , my old mount was one that i had with my old lifeproof case .for my new seido case i thought i would get something a little more utility that could hold anything that i wanted to throw at it . So the Ram X grip i thought would be a great choice .
brought it home all excited ( cause hey its a new toy and im a big freakin kid)
put the ball on it and attached it to my ram mount i already had . I throw my phone on it and .... WTF ... what kind of shit design is this .. yea it holds it tight , but the damn thing swivels back and forth , and im not talking about the ball .. what a SHIT design . I even contacted ram and they know of this problem and have nothing to fix it but suggest sticking a piece of cardboard on it ... SERIOUSLY ..
I like the ram mount , its been great with my lifeproof holster , but for them to sell this piece of shit and know its a faulty design .. very disappointing . The only thing i can think of is to glue a piece of rubber on the back to prevent it from sliding . . here is a short vid of it .

Any suggestions on this ? Im just bloody annoyed with ram right now ..
suggesting Cardboard ... agh

I don't think a piece of rubber will stop it from pivoting like it does. The only thing I can think of is some sort of set screw that you could put in to lock or block the arms at their maximum open position when your phone is inserted. That way, the arms could open for you to put the phone in, but then it wouldn't be able to pivot.

jeepsandbikes-

I have the same issue with mine.

As of yet I haven't tried to cure it, but I like your idea of a piece of grippy something on the face. I may try that.

Another thought would be to weave a heavy rubber band through the arms and let it drag on the body of the X-mount. I'm thinking of the kind of rubber band that they use to bind broccoli together.

I'll try both and let you know.

Try the rubber band, too. It seems to work.

I'm at the limit for thickness on mine, so I don't think the grippy stuff will work for me.

I was gonna say, "This sounds like a job for a rubber band cut from an old front tube." I have all kinda of crap secured with those.
