dog carrier for KLR

Hi - just looking into how I can bring my 20lb senior dog with me on my KLR. I have a rear trunk (obviously not suitable for a dog) but wondering if the plate it attaches to is standard & if any other KLR dog lovers have used one. Don't feel comfortable having him tethered up on the tank. Thanks!

Saw a guy on the trail with about a 10 pound dog with him. That little guy stood on the tank with his front paws on the handlebars. He was a very good rider but when he got off the bike he pissed on another guys boot ! Needs to learn to respect other riders

I've seen people hauling their pooches in dog carriers strapped to the back rack, but usually they are smaller dog's... I'm guessing a 20 pound dog would need a pretty big carrier!

Dog carrier

There's some extra room, if you include some of the rear portion of the seat.
A custom carrier that just overlaps the back part of the tail rack, and extends over the back of unused portion of the seat, may be big enough to take a medium sized dog.

Google search for "Dog carriers for motorcycles" gave this......
