Microphone on Helmet

In my ongoing quest for better sound quality in my videos, I'm trying a Edutige ETM-008 Microphone, with my GoPro Hero-2 camera.
This video demonstrates how it performs while recording from my Kubota diesel tractor. It's winter here in New Hampshire, so the Kubota is being used. ( Noisier than my KLR )

I can't test how it works in wind. I'll test on my bikes later when this white stuff, and freezing weather goes away. KLR has windscreen. NX250, and XT250 don't have any wind screens. I'll test on them too, later.

I'll suggest that the tractor engine noise reflects off of the face shield when the mic is pointed at your lips, sort of like a motorcycle engine will reflect off of a newly install windshield & then the customer asks "why is my engine so noisey"?

Your voice was clearest in test #1 and engine noise was very reasonable to my ears.

The final test was a fair mix, but I don't know which direction your foam shielded mic was pointed.

The motorcycle engines are below your lap, but the fairing of the KLR will reflect engine noise to your face. The motorcycle exhaust being be on the RH rear may never be very clearly received by the LH front mic position.

Noise Review

Very reasonable review of sound travel. I agree totally. BTW: The mic was pointed towards my mouth/chin.

I'll most likely will have to put up with the mix between engine, and voice. Much better than my previous setup, where the mic was in same relative position, but the mic was omni directional. Just way to much engine, and wind noise to compete with the voice.

Can't wait for a proper road test. Hmmm, my Highlander has a sun roof???
