It was not so much the GS I didn't like as it was the BMW dealers. An example was buying oil and a filter to do my own oil change they wanted $85, if I took the bike to them the cost was $65. They said it was because of the fact they used bulk oil, I said I would bring a container and buy the bulk oil. They wouldn't do it. Just one example. I bought my first KLR ('08 used with 3150 miles) while I still had the BMW and found it suited me fine, currently has 328k km (205k miles) and has never been to a dealer. I had a KTM 950 gorva while nut didn't like the maintenance it required. I've been averaging a thousand kms a week for the last 12 years so it is important to me to be able to do my own repairs and maintenance at a reasonable cost.
