Music on the Ride

I know this is a site where most rides are "off-road"

But some times we have to ride a ways to get to a good trail.

I'm wondering if any one has a setup to play music on their KLR?

Ipods etc.
Do you just put the ipod in your pocket and use ear buds or headsets?
Does any one have a more permanent hookup?
How much does wind noise effect the sound?

I have a Chatter box that is hooked to a mp3 player. The sound is good, and I have found that in the last four years, I have to have music when I ride. The Chatter box is a full duplex helmet to helmet communication device. When my wife and I are on a ride, it's nice to be able to talk to each other, and when she has had enough of me, she will click me off and go to music

Take care, and ride safe!

I use a MP3 player in the tankbag or front pocket of my jacket and for speakers I use a pair of Shure sound isolating earbuds that have a tube and a earplug that surrounds the tube. They eliminate most of the wind noise (I wear earplugs when I ride, anyway) and I get music, too..

These are designed to go OVER your ear before dropping down, so when you put your helmet on they don't pull out. I bought them on Tiger Direct, but they don't make the exact model anymore. They're similar to these.. http://store.shure.com/store/shure/e...ctID.121026300 but the ones I bought were less than $50..

My GPS has a built in MP3 player. I have headphones in my helmet.

Werks gud.

Thanks for the link Paper.

I would think the wind noise would be a problem if not using a good helmet.
I've a headset for when I ride the Wing but never tried listening when riding off road.

I have satellite radio hooked to my Chatterbox on my ST. I use an I-pod on my KLR with Fuzz ear phones. You get a molding material that goes into your ear with the ear phone. The material molds to your ear so it cuts out a lot of external noise and they are very comfortable because you don't have something forced into your ear.
