So I thought I would mod my exhaust Pt 2 – Warning lots of pics.

I turned up a punch to rivet the pipe to the backing plate in my axle press.

Tip all done and riveted together ready for mounting.

Drilled 4 equally spaced holes.

Spotted them through to the muffler, drilled and tapped.

Quick coat of paint and back together, all up around 4 hours work. Looks pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Most importantly though goes and sounds much better, well worth the effort. Just got to get some stainless socket head screws to finish it off nicely.

Cheers!

Nice work! Fabricating your own muffler tip: that's true KLRista, there!

Now that you have the punch made up, are you going to sell the tips to fellow KLRistas?

Cheers guys but seeing that I made it from bits and pieces of scrap found around the place it’s not really something that I intended to go “Commercial” with. If it gives you a few ideas to fab your own up, then my work is done!
