The Power Supply/Charger you've always wanted
Those voltage and current adjustable power supplies I used for my shop supply are back on EBay after about a year:
I added a box to the top of mine to house voltmeter and ammeter + on/off switch, and bigger panel type potentiometers to replace the little blue pots on the unit's circuit board. For most peoples' used the little pots are OK but so simple to replace with bigger remote ones that worth it, IMO.
If you want a hand converting one of these, I'm happy to help. Far better than most battery chargers for what I do.
The set-up is super handy as I can set the voltage to any level from about 3 volts to 20 volts which allows me to charge odd batteries, keep things like motorcycles or cars turned on for many hours to test things. The maximum current can be set for charging some batteries which specify a charge current rate rather than by voltage or if one isn't certain about hooking up something so current can be limited to less than what one estimates might fry things.
