I have not been banned, but am also a member there. Seems like there's a lot of that going on there. Seems to be a very sensative guy. If he doesn't like someone (or their opinions or replies), they better tread lightly or they'll be banned (a reason will be found or justified).

Welcome! I'm new here too.

Don't want to turn this thread into something it should not be but tell me now if dissenting opinions are allowed? I don't even know why I got banned from the other site, got no response with my inquiry.

Anyways I will stick to the basics. Mostly interested in DIY projects for the KLR, good places to ride. Info about the TAT, and general maintenance stuff.

Well I have definately noticed that this forum is not overwhelmed with the doom and gloom of certain maintenance topics. I have checked out another KLR forum and seems to have quite a lot of info but seems almost too much. I will not be participating in that .net forum except to maybe piss glenn and his cronies off one more time to get banned forever from there. If I'm going through the right of passage, I wanna make it memorable.

Interesting you say this, because for some reason the movie always brings West Virginia to my mind.

Georgia bears the distinction of being the setting of Deliverance.

My apologies to any Georgians on the forum for pointing this out.

"We all know it was just a movie......"

Glasser you are the one that said check that out. Now Im sure the acronym was made in jest and everyone just gets a laugh out of it or is there some other deep seated secret I need to know about? I have not made any plans to attend as I just got a klr and still gettin into all that it has to offer. I gues if I were to get slapped in the deliverence sense I'd be squealing in terror. (and probably sound like a pig) aahh hell Ill try anything once... just kidding thats a line from a TV show.

Im from MA originally and been all over in the military so AR is just where I hang my hat. I like it here, even with all the redneck, in-bread, and other references. But I agree with an earlier post. W. Virginia sounds a little scarier than Arkansas. lol

Think it's all in jest but I would go with the tent rather than bunkhouse just in case. Awesome riding in the area.

Your scenario at .net isn't unique or even unusual, ammca. You're in good company!
Saw ammca's post and started reading, then joined. Glad I wasnt the only one who thought the above Lone Rider. Picked up a 2011 KLR to destress on my commute and didnt like weeding through volatile temper tantrums to find info i needed. This community seems a lot calmer and that is one of the whole reasons i ride to relax (with the occasional a** clencher thrown in to make sure im alive) side note: ridden a lot of different Harley's and Sports and though the KLR is a beast, there is no more fun bike to ride out there!

Also, as far as membership is involved, it's ENTIRELY up to you.. The website is free and there's nobody standing over you with threats to toss money at the website for it's use..

The money goes to the website owners, not any of the regular users here. We're all here on our own accord.. Enjoy the website and again, WELCOME!!!
