Double Noob

Just bought my first KLR and its a first bike. My buddy advised me to get either a KLR or other dual due to the way/location I like to ride my sled and the noob rider title. So looking forward to seeing what I can get to know about KLRs around here.

You picked a good, smart first bike. Keep being good and smart and get the gear and read Proficient Motorcycling by David Hough. Twice. Dead serious.

And have fun.

Welcome to the KLR family. Sounds like your off to a good start. Let me second reading Proficient Motorcycling (great book), get your gear then discover just how much fun your new bike can be. Just take your time getting to know it.

Well thanks to the book and some seat time I took the safety class so I could get the endorsement and not just the temps and passed with a perfect score. I could not understand the people that took the class without ever having even used the clutch on a bike before the class, they only had a 25% pass rate.

Also, when you buy Proficient Motorcycling, teach yourself how to bind books. If you look at that book the wrong way it will disintegrate. Even thinking about being in the same room as a ceiling fan can have disastrous results.

Seriously, great book, terrible binding.
