Eastern Oklahoma Spanky here...

53 years of age...teach in the Job Corps system in Tahlequah. Former Marine...occasional flattracker. Own an '08 KLR...blue. Ride a lot in NW Arkansas just west of Fayetteville to I-40 north to Noel, MO. ...just now getting to explore eastern Oklahoma dirt roads and finding there are more than I thought. Health issue has me down for another couple of weeks. Will be doing a counterclockwise loop around For Gibson on the 21st of April to celebrate that I am still alive and can ride. Stands up at 0900 in the Dollar General parking lot in Fort Gibson. Food and beverages after the ride just around the corner at my house. Come help me celebrate a newly plumbed heart! I am so ready to ride...my grandsons tricycle is looking good!

found your post here

Spanky. after getting your reply on the deep south rider thread i looked at your profile. I am a former Marine also. Im 41 and my ticker is doing good i hope. Glad to hear that whatever had you down for bit is over with and your riding. This ride your talking about sounds interesting. I may be interested. Might have one of my children come for the ride also. Ill have to check my schedule and such. I may have to overnight it depending how long and far I end up being from my house at the end of the ride. any good little camp grounds in the area. Been promising my son we would do an overnighter on the bike.

Scrapper. Tom, ammca...thanks for the welcome. I had a stent installed in '04 and told the docs that something was still not right. They repeatedly put me on the treadmill and I would go the full 15 minutes. Anyway fast forward to '12...I went to the ER and told them I was not leaving until I get some definite answers. Treadmill, angiogram...found some inflammation of the left cardiac artery (the widowmaker) 70% blocked. Packed up and sent to Tulsa. The next morning chest cracked open and had CABG (cardiac artery bypass graft). Up and walking in 30 hours...4 days later I was on my way home. Tomorrow...13 April...is the 7th week since surgery. Still tender as a chicken nugget...sneezing and coughing are events that I can do without. I still have not ridden yet...the nurse that pulled the tubes rides and strongly suggested I not try for at least 8 weeks. So next week...look out!! ammca...there are camping areas all around me. Sure like you to join us...it's always a fun ride! Even if you have to trailer out. Let me know...we can adjust our ride times if needed!

wont be up in that area this weekend. Spanky I know we were discussing this a little and said I'd let you know. Son has some games this weekend. But would still like to meet up some other time to ride. Another new member sent me a pm because he was having problems posting replies. He had left me his e-mail that i tried but it didnt work and he left a phone number. Havent tried that yet. he said he wanted to hook up for this ride also and he lives in that area. I will try and get you his info.
