Western CO newbie

Hello to the forum.

Just bought a 2009 KLR (black and green). Paid $4,300 for it and that might be a little steep, but it only has 1200 miles on it and it came with a tank bag, rear bag, and a new battery. Anyway, I live in Grand Junction, CO and I am really excited to get out and explore some of the Rockies and Southern Utah with it. Would love to hear from anyone that lives in the area and could suggest a good ride.

Isn't there a trail system that goes from around Grand Junction to the Utah canyon lands?

You're in an ideal location Teddster, and welcome to the forum! As Scrapper mentioned, the Ouray, Telluride, Silverton, Durango areas are spectacular. Heck, you're even close to Moab you lucky dog! Check out "Guide to Colorado Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails". My old copy has 65 trails listed and was a good guide for the last time I was out there. Keep us in the loop on your adventures!

Great area. I've been through there on 4 wheels a couple of times and can't wait to explore some of the side roads on the KLR. Plus Durango is a fun town to spend a night in.
