Newbie here!!!

Hi all.
I have been contemplating the purchase of a new bike.
A few years back, I was forced to sell my F650 Dakar BMW, money issues....
I miss it every day. Now I'm ready to get a bike again, but I cannot afford the BMW. I have always liked the KLR's, in fact the only reason I stayed away from buying one was because I thought it might be too tall of a bike for me. (5'7").
But today I went to the Kawasaki dealership and sat on the new KLR. It was tall, but not anything I can't handle. Also, the aftermarket seat options for lowering the seat height look appealing.
So, my first question to the knowledgeable KLR community is,
What is a good "out the door" price?
The dealer quoted me $6480.00 (2012 model)
Is that good? Fair? Bad?

Let me be the first to welcome you to the forum cvo! I can't really give you any advice on new bike prices because I bought my 2009 in 2010 (new) and paid $4800 because it was the last years model. I'm sure others will chime in with more recent purchases.

Also, knowing where you live would help.

That seems kind of steep, but I could be wrong.
