hi everyone,

My name is Keith and I live in NE GA. I've really enjoyed the forums and found all the information available a great resource and a nice place to meet folks. I look forward to this being another great place to share and learn and just say hi.

SO>>>>>>>> Here's Keith's theory on attitudes of groups...........

In 2001 I moved from Fairbanks AK to Washington DC. I was born and raised in the west in mostly low population areas and have avoided metro areas to that point. DC was a little slice of hell for me complicated by the fact that a month after I got there the 9/11 attacks occurred followed over the next two years were snipers, guys in tractors threatening to blow up stuff, Anthrax and other various assaults on body and soul.

Dealing with all the events from a "Western Man" point of view I attempted to figure out why there are so many rotten apples in cities. I came to understand the following...

The people in cities are not worse than the folks in small towns. But, you have a 100% chance of running across a "total jerk" who will try to ruin your day.
Ok, if you've read this far you may be asking "what's the point?) The POINT is that the KLR650.net site reached the critical mass where there was going to be enough total jerks on often enough to anger someone who in turn got someone else going who then kept passing it on. ADVrider has passed this point by giving up it's PG status and having a juvenile flavored discussions and very little true content.

When/if this site gets to 7000 member point I?m sure we?ll see the same Pride Monster rearing it?s awful head. Thanks, you all are some great folks and it?s a pleasure corresponding with you.

If the MODS do their jobs, and the rules are followed, the unwanted will stay away or be banned. I hope this is the way it works out here, and from what I see of the owner and the mod it will pretty much be that way.

Hi Daddyjoe! Hope your son doing well. You should come visit now that we have the good weather..

Well, turns out you're right about the location. I was figuring from the center of the state near Madcon which is south and west of us. From the city website....

Nestled along the banks of the Savannah River, Augusta is the second largest and oldest city in Georgia. Located in the east central section of the state, Augusta is approximately 150 miles east of Atlanta on Interstate 20. Augusta is also centrally located just two and a half hours from the beach and the mountains.

When planning a visit to Augusta, you'll want to come early and stay late. Take time to discover the historic charm of the classic South with its tree-lined streets and majestic antebellum mansions. There are dozens of shops and restaurants, cultural and historic attractions in Augusta.

Year round, Augusta is the place to be for recreation. With an average temperature of 62.7 degrees, we hope you will make the most of our many parks and recreational facilities. Make time for an afternoon of golf, tennis, fishing, boating, or just enjoying the great outdoors.
