Back on a bike after 20 years off

Lovin' my new '09 in the Kansas City area. Gotta work on refreshing my fundamental skills and then the search for local KLR junkies begins.

Taking a refresher course would be a good idea. And reading "Proficient Motorcycling" by David Hough has saved more than a few lives.

Take 'er slow and have fun!

No idea. But, Hough deserves the money, man. I'm a writer. I write fiction. That guy has saved many lives.

I don't know what reader you use, but it's available for the Kindle. Glad you mentioned it because I use a Kindle and think I'll pick it up. I had a hardcopy version and sent it out on here for a pass-around but don't know what ever became of it. I think it's time to read it again.

++1 on Hough. I read parts of it every week. I was off motorcycles for 35 years. Back then there was no discussion of counterrsteering, etc. you just rode it till you scared yourself and backed off. Looking back, I'm lucky to be alive.

I took the MSF basic course this spring. Well worth the time and cost if for no other reason than they let you ride their bike too fast in a parking lot;-)
